Water bath is a classic method for gentle and slow heating and for keeping food warm.
Used when cooking, for example, sensitive sauces and soups, when you want a gentle and even heating that does not exceed the boiling point.

A vessel with the sauce is placed in a water-filled saucepan / container where the water is not allowed to boil but barely boils.


Think of:
Always drain the water and clean the water bath after use.
An electric water bath must never be used without a sufficient amount of liquid. Should the water bath "run dry", the heating elements will burn.
